High Blue

Photographic Reconnaissance Spitfire Mk XIX.

This beautifully proportioned aircraft overcame the painfully short range of earlier Spitfires with additional provision of fuel in the fuselage and leading edges of the wings(Wet Wings).

This study would have been after the war, but pilots would have been trained to still keep a sharp lookout. After all, speed, high altitude performance and the skill of their exceptional pilots were the only defence this beautiful, but unarmed aircraft had.
