Some images you keep all to yourself.
This Spitfire IX (along with the VIII, my favourite Mark) was painted with the sole intention of collecting the signatures of as many wartime pilots as I could get. I showed it above a glittering sky, carrying all of the wear and tear common to these hard used aircraft. To me it personifies the skill and sacrifice of the the RAF; my heroes since boyhood.
It now hangs proudly in my studio and will pass to my son when the time comes.
