Fast and Low

£105.00

The De Havilland Mosquito was a revelation when it first appeared; agile and blisteringly fast it was to play a critical part in winning the war. Depicted here coming in low over the Cornish Coast, crews faced hazards other than just enemy action, in fact the reason they sported armoured windscreens was said to be more about keeping a gull from entering the cockpit, than protection from hostile fire.

Oil paint on acrylic base and linen canvas.
